Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru Les Caillerets 2010

Front Label

Back Label

We produced this Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru Les Caillerets from Chardonnay vines with an age of nearly 40 years, sited in pebbly limestone soils with an eastern aspect, on the mid Caillerets slope due west of the fabled village of Puligny-Montrachet. The growing season and harvest in 2010 were superb for Chardonnay with wonderful ripeness of fruit, purity and minerality. Bottled after 14 months in barrel this is a wine of real complexity, weight and structure.

Tasting Notes

Bright straw gold in colour tinged with green. Lovely intense nose of exceptional purity, displaying lime, lemon, yellow plum and slate accentuated by hints of honey, toffee, vanilla and butter.

On the palate the wine is full, rich and extremely complex. It displays a well structured but soft acidic profile around which the rest of the wine wraps itself. Multi-layered and exhibiting great texture there are plenty of ripe citric fruit and apple elements, balanced by saline and rocky notes. Full in the mouth, the finish is long, clean, precise, pure and mineral.
