Meursault Premier Cru Poruzots 2009

Front Label

We produced this Meursault Premier Cru Les Poruzots from Chardonnay vines with an average age of 35 years, beautifully positioned with a south-east aspect mid-way up the slopes south-west of the ancient village of Meursault. The vines here are planted in stony limestone soils layered through with traces of iron and clay. The growing season and harvest conditions in 2005 were superb and the concentration, balance and ripeness of fruit were all excellent. Bottled after 16 months in barrel, this is a wine of real richness, opulence and finesse which we really hope that you wil enjoy.

Tasting Notes

Pale straw in colour fading to a water white rim. Rich nose, with lots of hazelnuts, cream, milk toffee and fudge with notes of grilled pineapple, raisins, vanilla and herbs de Provence.

Really fresh acidic profile, lifted and pure with great definition. Citrus notes, lemon, lime and especially grapefruit - long, fine and nicely knit together. Good grip and purity, and extremely well focused with a long finish redolent of pear and underpinned by nice steely mineral notes.
