Meursault Premier Cru Les Genevrières 2010

Front Label

Back Label

We produced this Meursault Premier Cru Les Genevrières from Chardonnay vines with an age of nearly 30 years sited in fine, light, stony soils with a south-east aspect on the upper Genevrières slope south-west of the fabled village of Meursault. The growing season and harvest in 2010 were superb for Chardonnay with wonderful ripeness of fuit, purity and minerality. Bottled after 16 months in barrel, this is a wine of real depth, complexity and length.

Tasting Notes

Bright pale gold in colour with hints of green and a water white rim. Intense, pronounced nose of lemon, wet stone, oyster water and minerals with hints of greengage, honey, marzipan and baked bread.

On the palate the wine is full, luscious and round with a substantial structure and firm acidic profile that supports the weight. There are greengage, lemon zest, yellow plum and apricot elements, and some richer notes of butter, brioche, cream and toffee. The finish is long, full, rich and powerful, yet pure and cleansing.
