Meursault Premier Cru Charmes 2010

Front Label

Back Label

We produced this Meursault Premier Cru Les Charmes from Chardonnay vines with an age of nearly 45 years, sited in rocky limestone soils with a south-east aspect, mid-way up the slope south-west of the fabled village of Meursault. The growing season and harvest in 2010 were superb for Chardonnay with wonderful ripeness of fruit, purity and minerality. Bottled after 14 months in barrel, this is a racy wine of ripe fruit character and purity.

Tasting Notes

Bright straw in colour with hints of yellow gold and a water white rim. Intense nose of lime juice, lemon zest and white peach with hints of toast, butter, vanilla, macadamia nut and apricot.

On the palate the wine is lean, pure and mineral with a well defined, yet soft acidic structure and lovely clean texture. There are plenty of citrus elements, lemon, lime and gooseberry fruit and some mineral and nutty notes that balance well with a trace of ginger, and star anise spice. The finish is long, lean, focused and deliciously cleansing.
