Gevrey-Chambertin 2010

Front Label

Back Label

We produced this Gevrey-Chambertin from Pinot Noir vines with an average age of nearly 45 years spread between several excellent sites around the ancient village of Gevrey-Chambertin and planted in limestone, clay and pebbly soils. The growing season and harvest in 2005 were superb and the concentration, balance and ripeness of fruit were all excellent. Bottled after 14 months in barrel, this is a wine of real fruit character, ripeness and purity which we really hope that you will enjoy.

Tasting Notes

Lovely deep red in colour with a hint of purple at the rim. A rich, layered nose with plenty of bramble fruit, black cherry, blueberry and hints of eucalyptus, tarragon and black pepper.
Full and rich on the palate with good grip and power. Plenty of tannins but nicely integrated and well knit together with layers of ripe black fruit. Long and smooth with hints of green tea, bitter chocolate and clove, this has a really long, smooth finish.
