Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2010

Front Label

Back Label

We produced this Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru from Chardonnay vines with an average age of just over 45 years, spread between three small parcels across the south-west facing upper slopes of the hill of Corton. The growing season and harvest in 2010 were superb for Chardonnay with wonderful ripeness of fruit, purity and minerality. Bottled after 16 months in barrel, this is a wine of real depth, richness and complexity which we really hope that you will enjoy.

Tasting Notes

Pale gold, tinged through with green, fading to a water white rim. Intense, pure, clean, beautifully defined nose of great complexity displaying lime and greengage fruit along with notes of mineral, fudge, cream and nutmeg.

On the palate a powerful and mouthwatering burst of acidity - really lifted and fresh. Excellent grip and purity and very long indeed, with a steely core around which the rest of the wine wraps itself. Complex and long there are many fruit elements including lemon, lime, crisp green apples and apricot kernel, with notes of shortbread, cream, mineral and slate. Firm and well structured, luscious and long, pure and extremely well defined.
