Corton Bressandes Grand Cru 2010

Front Label

Back Label

We produced this Corton Bressandes Grand Cru from pinot noir vines with an age of nearly 45 years, sited in reddish, limestone and clay soils with a south-east aspect, on the mid-Bressandes slope north-east of the ancient village of Aloxe-Corton. The growing season and harvest in 2006 were fine for pinot noir with lovely ripeness of fruit, purity and structure. Bottled after 16 months in barrel, this is a wine of real richness, purity and length which we really hope that you will enjoy.

Tasting Notes

Ruby core fading to a deep pink rim. Ripe, round, intense and pure nose with layers of lovely rich mulberry, spiced plum, griotte and black cherry fruit, with notes ofwhite pepper, bitter chocolate, freshly turned earth and tar.
Beautifully ripe, round fruit on the palate - lovely concentration. Excellent, really nicely defined acidic structure around which the rest of the wine fits beautifully. Perfect balance ad extremely long, though not heavy. Plum, tobacco leaf, spice, sweet cherry and savoury herb elements all knit together beautifully. Seriously fine and extremely approachable although this could cellar for quite some time.
